You can zoom in and edit all within push2. + Browse: Browse FX or Instruments Below mode buttons are arrows. These move you around session. Below: repeat and accent. When inst loaded, (can play inst with pads), hold note, repeat causes a note to be repeated when held. note time div col on right between arrows and pads, changes repeat speed. Accent button removes velocity variation, basically disables vel sens in pads. Scale only avail with melodic insts (i.e. not drums). Scale sets scale, e.g. Cm. Coloured blue pads indicate root of scale. Layout button turns into melodic sequencer. Or a split between seq'ing and key pads. Layout is slightly different with a drum rack or kit. Then samples on bot left 16 pads; bot right selects loop in clip. By holding top left of the lower right pads, and then press another pad to select length. Top half of pads becomes sequencer. It shows 32 steps in four rows for the selected pad. Next drum layout, bot right selects velocity. Top half still seq. Next drum layout, 64 pad mode. Note view vs session. Session view corresponds to session view in Ableton. Launch clips by pressing pads. Time val buttons launch scene rows. Note view reps notes on pads. On left: Metronome button. Tap tempo button. Or use encoder above tempo. Delete button, undo, mute, solo, stop clip. Delete: hold delete and press clip to delete. Double loop; quantise. Fixed length button. Hold fixed length, select bar length. Automate activates/deactivates automation recording. Record and Play. To record, press record. Hold quantise, and knobs change params for quant. Press duplicate to duplicate scene. Hold duplicate, press src clip, then dest slot. Add track adds a new track, audio/midi/return. Can browse devices. Press load. To add e.g. delay to a track, add device brings up browser again. Shows device, mix window, clips, etc. Device, Mix, Browse, Clip. Mix window shows levels, sends, etc. Browse allows us to find insts, samples, etc to add. Clip view shows clips, audio or midi. Arrows move around the session view. Repeat, Accent. Scale. Layout knob adjusts offset of one row to the next: seq each row is an octave apart, 3rds, 4ths. Chromatic view allows all notes, lighting in scale notes. Coloured buttons are roots of scale. Layouts: 64pad view. Then melodic sequencer. Drum tracs: bot left is drum pads. Bot right loop or velocity. Other layout has 64 pad mode. Two main views in Ableton, session, arrange. In Push2, we have session and note view. Bot right buttons: octave up down, page left right. Quantisation: hold quant button to control quant settings. Input quantise. Fixed length (to record loops of fixed size). Fixed length on/off. Automation button. Ribbon pitch shifts. Record and play. Add device. Add track. Can turn preview off, esp if performing live.
