Why to Restrict Yourself

When making music, there is an almost unimaginably vast landscape of possibilities to explore. To explore it all at once is to spread yourself too thin: you can master nothing if you don't take enough time with it, and thus faced with the landscape of music, you have to choose which areas to focus on, and resist the temptation to wander.
